WWE Welcome To Sakshi Malik and Sushil Kumar and Yogeshwar Dutt :- World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is open to welcome Indian amateur wrestlers, who have won medals for the country at the Olympics, says WWE superstar Sheamus. As of now, only three Indian wrestlers — Sakshi Malik, Sushil Kumar and Yogeshwar Dutt — have achieved the feat. The good news is that all the three Indian stars are currently active and shifting from the amateur to the pro wrestling scene looks very much a possibility. The 2012 London Olympics silver medallist, Sushil, recently met with WWE officials in India over possibly joining the Vince McMahon-led company in some years.
Irish wrestler Sheamus, who is currently in India for a promotional event, mentioned that the WWE company will welcome any Olympic medallist from India with “open arms”.
“To win an Olympic medal requires tons of dedication, sacrifice, focus and drive. WWE also requires a lot commitment and we want people like that,” Sheamus, whose original name is Stephen Farrelly, has been quoted as saying by the Deccan Chronicle.
“If that means an Olympic medallist is coming in from India, we will welcome him with open arms. WWE is actively searching for new talents from different countries. When I watched WWE, it was more like an American company, now it is like a global company. We are looking for new talent in India and I am sure we will be able to pick up one or two from India,” the former WWE World Heavyweight champion added.
