Nokia 216 Feature Phone Prices 2495 | Microsoft Announces
everyone by surprise, Microsoft said that it will be releasing a Nokia phone. Excitement at the news died down as soon as it became clear that the phone, christened Nokia 216, was a feature phone.
A feature phone has the ability to access the Internet, and to play and store music, but it lacks the more advanced features of a smartphone.
Nokia 216 is aimed at the Indian market and is priced at 2495. It will be available in stores from 24 October.
At the first glance, the phone reminds you of the colorful feature phones released by Nokia in the mid-2000s. A very basic phone, Nokia 216 includes 2.4-inch QVGA display and has 0.3-megapixel front and rear cameras with flash on both the sides. It supports FM Radio, Bluetooth audio, and MP3 through SD card.
Even though the company is calling the phone Internet-ready, it only supports 2.5G networks. The dual-SIM phone will come pre-loaded with Opera mini browser and Facebook.
In keeping with Nokia’s reputation, the phone will have a great battery back-up. It runs on Series 30 software.
Feature phones still exist today and Microsoft is making sure of that. After launching the Nokia 230 Dual SIM in December at Rs. 3,869, Microsoft on Tuesday launched the Nokia 216 Dual SIM in India at a price of Rs. 2,495. The feature phone will be available in the country from October 24.
The Nokia 216 comes with a 2.4-inch QVGA display (240×320 resolution), running on Nokia Series 30+ operating system, with up to 32GB of storage via MicroSD card support. The handset features a VGA camera (0.3-megapixels) with a LED flash module on both the front and back.
Connectivity options include Micro-USB, 3.5mm AV connector, Bluetooth 3.0 with SLAM and HSP/HFP profile. The 216 Dual SIM comes with a smaller 1020mAh battery compared to the 1200mAh found on the 230 Dual SIM. Microsoft claims up to 18 hours of talk time and up to 19 days standby (for Dual SIM) for the Nokia 216.
